Settling into a new town and home takes some effort. I am fortunate to have time available to take care of many of the required tasks. This past weekend we gained access to the flat which used to contain the previous owner’s furniture.
They got the clearance they needed to load a container and transport their goods to Zambia. We now have access to this additional space which is entered from outside of the main part of the home. Morne has moved his office giving him more privacy and I have taken over door(wo)man responsibilities. Our dining room has been set up and functional for future dinners indoors as we were told that winter temperatures are on average in the early minuses (-3 degrees). Not sure I am going to be leaving the warmth of the lounge to traverse a wet and cold outdoor area often.
When Morne moved his office out of the house it felt strange at first. This eerie silence in the house and coffee deliveries are now a few extra steps away.
Our adventures after work and on weekends continue. This past weekend we went on a Ghost and Historic Town tour on bicycles had a fun evening at a local pizzeria and hiked to a nearby waterfall.
After 2 months of living in Montagu, I can truly say that this was one of our best decisions. Remote work and a forward-thinking company have made this option a reality for us.
