Lockdown lessons
Hello,
We have passed the 1-year mark since the pandemic forced us into a slow down. I attended a Story Lab event and they asked us to reflect on the following questions.
What challenged you the most in lockdown?
How have you changed in the last year?
What were the positives about being in lockdown?
What are you most concerned about in your life?
What do you like about yourself?
It was a powerful exercise to think back to what we thought were immense hardships at the time and acknowledge the good that came from this experience. Here are some of my takeaways.
I learned how to rationalize costs. What I need versus what I want.
I re-evaluated what is important to me and spent a lot of time on introspection.
Having to travel less for work gave me time back.
Routine and structure made me feel safe and within control.
I am an introvert and fewer social events suited me.
I placed greater importance on my physical and mental well-being.
I have become more reserved, gentle, kind, attentive, focussed, disciplined, and healthy. What has your experience been?
